The AEM4HER aims to boost the future of H2 production. The project focuses on advancing research on membrane electrode assemblies (MEA) for anion exchange membrane water electrolysers (AEMWE) with dry cathode configurations. Following European Union guidelines, the objective is to improve the efficiency and durability of hydrogen production.
At the AEM4HER core is the ambition to optimize the synergy between catalysts, ionomers and membranes, while studying the role of bubble dynamics in degradation processes. This innovative approach aims to upgrade MEA performance, reduce costs, improve scalability and explore the potential use of pure water in electrolysis.
By combining advanced materials research with in-depth knowledge of electrochemical processes, AEM4HER promises to deliver breakthroughs that will strengthen the foundations of sustainable energy, leading to a greener and more resilient future.
