Preparation of Porous Materials of Biogenic Origin as Adsorbents of Gases of Energy and Environmental Interest

The main objective of the BioPorEn project is to process and evaluate the suitability of biogenic raw materials for the sustainable synthesis of porous materials that could be potentially useful for the physical adsorption of carbon dioxide and hydrogen, thereby facilitating their capture or storage, respectively. To achieve this overall goal, the project focuses on several specific objectives: the preparation of biogenic raw materials for the synthesis of porous materials through the study of synthesis routes and innovative methodologies; the physicochemical characterization of the resulting porous materials; and adsorption studies of carbon dioxide and hydrogen on the selected materials.
