Prussian Blue Analogues for K-ion batteries

This project aims to develop low-cost, non-toxic, and sustainable K-ion batteries as an alternative to conventional Li-ion systems. We will design and synthesize Prussian Blue Analogue (PBA) cathodes—particularly Prussian White phases—leveraging their open structure, abundant elements, and fast K⁺ diffusion. The study includes evaluating PBAs with various electrolytes and anodes to enhance performance. Advanced operando techniques will be employed to understand phase transitions, SEI formation, and the limitations of current PBA-based K-ion technologies.
